First attempt on Icecrown Citadel

Icecrown Citadel is the greatest fortress of the Scourge and the last bastion of the dread Lich King. Located in the frozen wastes of Icecrown on the continent of Northrend, the Citadel is built around the Frozen Throne that once held the spirit of Ner'zhul until he joined with Arthas Menethil to become the new Lich King. Constructed from saronite, the Citadel is inhabited by some of the strongest and vilest of the Lich King's minions - a great army of the living dead standing between their dark master and those who seek to destroy him.

We will this time go for STORMING THE CITADEL
Storming the Citadel requires that the player defeats the first four boss encounters of Icecrown Citadel. This achievement is also criteria of the meta achievement Fall of the Lich King.

This includes encounters with the following bosses:

Lord Marrowgar is the first boss of the Icecrown Citadel raid. Pieced together by the Lich King from the bones of a thousand vanquished adventurers, he is the guardian of the Frozen Throne within The Spire, and wields the power of the throne itself.

The lich Lady Deathwhisper is the Supreme Overseer of the Cult of the Damned and the second boss of the Icecrown Citadel raid. The fight is mostly a DPS race (with a high damage output it becomes significanty easier), but also requires high awareness from all raid members. The 25-player Heroic version of this boss is one of the most di
fficult encounters in the instance

The Gunship Battle is an aerial battle between the gunships Skybreaker and Orgrim's Hammer
around the spire of Icecrown Citadel. The encounter has some fun elements, and most guilds manage it easily, therefore it is often referred to as the "Lootship Battle".

Deathbringer Saurfang is the fourth boss in the Icecrown Citadel raid. He is described as being the Lich King's most powerful death knight.[1] It's mainly a DPS race with an interesting twist (Blood Power).
After falling to Frostmourne at the Battle of Angrathar the Wrathgate, Dranosh Saurfang was raised in undeath by the Lich King and brought to Icecrown Citadel. Imbued with the power of the Scourge, the Deathbringer bars the way of any attackers trying to enter the Upper Spire.

Weekly raid: Lord Marrowgar must die!

This time Blizzard sends us in to Ice crown citadel to handle Lord Marrowgar, the first boss in ICC.

Lord Marrowgar has 6972500 hp in 10 player normal mode and 23700000 hp in 25 player normal mode.

Lord Marrowgar is a fairly simple encounter that should not give any guild prepared for Icecrown Citadel much difficulty.
Tanking
Tanks need to stand on top of each other to soak Saber Lash. If you are short on tanks and the raid has plate DPS available, one can be put in front of the boss with the tanks to help soak the Saber Lash damage. If said DPSer has a tanking set, equipping a piece or two to increase their HP is an option should they be taking too much damage. Note that the tanks will take substantial damage during the fight - using an off tank of this sort is not advised, as it will make healing even more difficult, although it is better than insufficient tanks.
It is entirely possible to single tank Marrowgar, in 10man, should the tank be sufficiently geared. In 3.3(a) Marrowgar's damage was further reduced, making this an even more viable strategy. Be advised that although this frees up another DPS in your 10man raid, the tank will take heavy damage.
The key to the fight is managing the transitions between the Bone Storms and going back to the Bone Graveyard phase. You have 10 seconds from the end of Bone Storm until Lord Marrowgar starts casting Saber Lash again (until then he simply melees his target) - the tanks need to pick him up and position themselves together in that time. (The 10 second grace period also applies to the beginning of the encounter, counting from when he is first aggroed, giving the tanks time to set themselves up.)
Tanks should avoid sandwiching themselves between Marrowgar and a wall. The trails of fire need a place to land behind the tanks, or they will be cast inside the hit box, affecting the tanks.
DPS
Lord Marrowgar has a gigantic hit box You will want to have a dedicated 'spike team' - chosen dps members who will kill the Bone Spike Graveyard as soon as it impales a player. If you're doing 10-man without a dedicated spike team, the melee need to be grouped near the healers until you out-gear the encounter, or are attempting his heroic mode. Melee can choose to stay close to the boss to avoid the Coldflame, which startsstay out of range of the 8 yd Coldflame and still attack the boss.

Ulduar

For millennia, Ulduar has remained undisturbed by mortals, far away from their concerns and their struggles. Yet since its recent discovery, many have wondered what the structure's original purpose may have been. Some thought it a city, built to herald the glory of its makers; some thought it a vault containing innumerable treasures, perhaps even relics of the mighty Titans themselves. Such speculations were wrong. Beyond Ulduar's gates lies no city, no treasure vault, no final answer to the Titan's mysteries. All that awaits those who dare set foot in Ulduar is a horror even the Titans could not, would not destroy, an evil they merely... contained.
Beneath ancient Ulduar, the Old God of death lies, whispering.... Tread carefully, or its prison will become your tomb. - Official Blizzard intro

Ulduar is a raid instance located in the northern parts of Storm peaks. Closest flight point is Frosthold.

Vault of Archavon

Picture from WOWWIKI.COM

Every wednesday Wintergrasp resets and the raids on Vault of Archavon starts again. This raid is only available when the alliance controls Wintergrasp. Usually the raids only go in to do the frost boss TORAVON the ice giant (drops frost emblems) and fire boss KORALON the fire giant (good gear drops) but the complete raid also consists of EMALON the iron giant and ARCHAVON the stone giant.

The raid is available in 10 and 25 players mode and have good drops, a lot connected to PVP gear.
The bosses have different tactics and behavior but are mainly tank and spank with different twists and enrage timers.

Raiding links

Hi all

Since we now are starting to progress in raiding I will add articles on the different raids and links to information and videos for the different lvl 80 raids.

It is important that we read and study before a raid to see how we should act to make it easier. We will of course wipe a bit when raiding but the importance is that we learn.

Overall descriptions of the differnet raids:

NAXXRAMAS (NAX)

ULDUAR (ULD)

Before the weekly I will try to add info and videos for the raid at hand.
